PTHSD
Senior Internship Program
About SIP
The Parsippany-Troy Hills School District announced a new Senior Internship Pilot Program during the 2021-2022 school year, which allowed 25 students in good standing from each high school to obtain an off-site internship for the last four weeks of the school year. After running a successful pilot program, PTHSD has expanded the SIP to include 50 students from each high school. This exciting opportunity allows students to gain valuable work experience and insight into a career field of interest while building their own professional network.
Benefits of an Internship
The invaluable hands-on work experience you'll receive as an intern can't be obtained in a classroom setting. As an intern you have the opportunity to apply acquired knowledge to real world work experiences, witnessing firsthand the day-to-day job duties that can be expected within a particular career field. In addition, transferable skills such as communication, teamwork and computer software proficiency are also obtained, preparing interns to enter college or the workforce upon graduation.
