Program Overview
The Parsippany Hills Band program includes two curricular courses, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble. These bands rehearses during the school day as part of the student's schedule. In addition to the class meetings, students participate in rotating group pull out lessons Every student participates in a weekly small group lesson with other members of gheir section.
In addition to our curricular bands, we offer the following extra curricular ensembles: Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Pit Orchestra, Piano and Strings Club, and various chamber ensembles.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Parsippany Education Foundation, the PTHSD music is able to bring the Lucky Chops to work with our instrumental music students in grades 4-12 in a masterclass.
High School students will perform with Lucky Chops in a concert at 7:00 PM at PHHS.

AP Music Theory is open to students who have completed 1 year of a performing ensemble class (Band/Choir) at PHHS.
This class consists of studying music in both written notation and aural form. Students learn conducting patterns, score study and error detection, how to write music (rhythmic, melodic, harmonic dictation), and sightsinging to prepare for the AP Music Theory exam.
