My name is Deb Shirley.
I am a new entrant teacher at Pt England Primary school, Auckland, New Zealand.
My goal is to make sure that my students become happy engaged school attenders. Their ability to communicate and therefore their oral language skills are fundamental to achieving this.
Therefore I knew that working on the oral language of my students was a worthy undertaking and the Manaiakalani Innovative Teacher program 2022, afforded me a chance to devote time to working on this issue. I developed this website with the support of the MIT team in response to this problem statement. My aim is that it will be a shared resource for teachers also grappling with this problem.
