This term we are going to be learning all about music. In Creative Space you are going to be creating your very own music that you will need to put together with a song for the end of the year. Music can invoke a range of different emotions and can tell a story and that is what we are wanting your to create with your music this term. There is no specific creative space task this term but there is still the rubric which is linked to "Let the Music Play."
Our focus question is: How can we use music and melody to share our emotions through storytelling?

Learning to Count Beats: Have you ever listened to a beat of a song and realised that there are repeating beats? During our rotation, you will learn all about counting beats. We will have a practice to show that you have learnt how to count beats, and then I challenge you to the 12345678 challenge!

Song Writing: This term in Creative Space with Mrs. Burton, we're going to become total music creators! But what do you need with an awesome beat? An awesome song! Today, let's write the perfect lyrics to go with your music. Let's think about your whole school year and how we can make an incredible song all about your journey and how you're going to finish the year strong!

Beatboxing: Get ready to turn your voice into an instrument! In this activity, you’ll learn how to make simple beatboxing sounds like the kick drum, hi-hat, and snare. Once you’ve got the basics, you’ll put them together to create your own rhythms and beats. No instruments needed—just your voice, some practice, and a bit of creativity!

Music: Have you ever stopped to wonder why music evokes a certain feeling in you? Why does one song make you want to get up and dance, while another makes you feel peaceful and calm? How can a piece of music with no words at all make you feel happy, sad, or even a bit sleepy? That is our big question for this term. We are going on a journey to explore the powerful connection between sound and our emotions. We will learn about the basic ingredients of music and how composers and artists mix them together to make us feel all these different things.
