Summer Learning Journey Registration
This term we will be learning all about Hauora and Te Whare Tapa Wha. This means we will be looking at the different aspects of hauora in depth. For Creative Space this term you are going to be creating an animation showing the one of the pillars of Te Whare Tapa Whā and what that pillar means to you in your life. Fill out the following slides before you see Mrs Burton at creative space.
Our focus question is:
What positive choices can we make to keep our hauora strong and healthy?
Taha Whānau is all about your family and the people who care about you. It means having people around you who love you, help you, and make you feel like you belong. Your whānau can be your parents, grandparents, cousins, or even close friends. When you spend time with your whānau, talk, laugh, share stories, and help each other you’re looking after your taha whānau. Having strong whānau makes you feel happy, safe, and proud of who you are!
Taha Tinana is about looking after our physical body. This includes things like eating healthy food, getting enough sleep, moving our bodies, and feeling safe.
When our body is strong and healthy, we have more energy, can do the things we love, and feel good inside and out.
Taha tinana is one part of hauora, which is about total wellbeing – our body, mind, heart, and spirit all working together.
Taha Wairua is the spiritual wellbeing part of who we are. It’s about feeling connected to people, places, beliefs, and things that give our life meaning and purpose. For some people, it might be their faith or culture. For others, it could be nature, their values, or even special people in their lives. Taha Wairua helps us feel calm, strong inside, and gives us a sense of belonging.
