This term we'll integrate a lot of hands on maths into our Tūrangawaewae learning as we create models, maps and shapes.
We'll keep doing some problem solving too to help keep the strategies we've learnt previously fresh in our brains.
Throughout Term 3 we'll continue learning some more strategies to expand on your options when you're solving an addition/subtraction/multiplication/division problem.
Applying our Strategies
This term we'll apply the number knowledge we learnt last term to learn and use a range of maths strategies when solving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems. Hopefully learning these together will help us see some links between our maths knowledge and the ways we can use it!
This term we'll be focussing on place value, ordering numbers and number patterns.
WALHT represent numbers using words.
Use the notes from this workshop to help you write numbers like 1,325,602 using words.
WALHT order fractions with mixed denominators.
Here's the workshop to help you work out how to order fractions when they have different denominators e.g. Which is bigger, 1/3 or 2/7?
