The Laboratory for Intergroup Conflicts and their Resolution (LICR) at the University of Haifa investigates the interface between individuals’ mental processes and their membership in a society that is involved in conflicts with other groups. We explore how individuals’ mental processes are shaped by the need to adapt to the conditions of a social conflict, and how these mental processes, in turn, affect individual and group behaviors that determine how the conflict unfolds. We are interested in how these dynamics contribute to the escalation of conflicts, to the point that they become intractable, as well as in ways to intervene in order to disrupt destructive dynamics and promote pro-social behaviors and peaceful conflict transformation.
The lab is located in Room 5005, Rabin Building
