Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
Mindfulness is being focused and fully engaged with whatever you're doing at the moment, and aware of our thoughts and feelings without getting caught up in them.
Mindfulness doesn’t eliminate stress or other difficulties; instead, by becoming aware of unpleasant thoughts and emotions that arise because of challenging situations, we have more choice in how to handle them in the moment — and a better chance of reacting calmly and empathetically when faced with stress or challenges.
Check out the mindfulness apps in the picture provided. Some are free or are offering free subscriptions for the time being. Remember, one size may not fit all. Check each of them out and see what works for you.
What is Growth Mindset?
Growth mindset is the belief that our abilities are always changing and not fixed.
Growth Mindset: “In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment” (Dweck, 2015).

What is Gratitude?
Gratitude is recognizing the good things in our lives. There's always something to be thankful for. Focusing on and appreciating the good in our lives constantly reminds us about great things all around us.
Right now we have a great opportunity to show our gratitude for members of our community who are the "helpers." If you can take a moment and write a letter of thanks, a small card, or even send an email to a local grocery store, hospital, law enforcement agency, fire department etc. If you have other suggestions we'd love to hear them!
