It is extremely important your child is an active participant in their learning. Please make sure come to school on time and every day.
Rules:
At Bella Vista Elementary, learning is our priority. I have 5 classroom rules in order to stay on task and keep learning:
1. Everyone has the right to be happy in our classroom.
2. We sit on our bottom and keep our hands in our lap.
3. We use a quiet voice inside.
4. We are respectful to others, ourselves and school property.
5. We try our best and work hard.
Failure to follow these rules results in:
1. Verbal Warning
2. Time Spent in Peace Corner
3. Loss of Recess
4. Phone Call Home
Positive Reinforcement:
I believe in rewarding students' positive behavior throughout the school day. In addition to verbal praise, stickers, smelly spots (scented lip balm on back of hand), & goldfish snacks given to students, in our classroom positive reinforcement looks like:
Swag Tags: Used to celebrate positive behavior. Each child will be given a necklace that they will add brag tags onto throughout the year. When a student demonstrates a behavior that the teacher feels is exemplary, a tag is rewarded to that student. There are a variety of brag tags such as reading, math, and character. Brag tags will remain at school and students will be allowed to wear them for special occasions.
Class Tickets/Bulldog bucks: When students are caught following rules they can earn points or bulldog bucks. They can purchase from school store or classroom store with these points or bulldog bucks.
