Education Abroad Program: DIS: Copenhagen, Study in Copenhagen (Spring 2025)
Major: B.S Security and Risk Analysis with a focus in Intelligence and Modeling
About Jake: Jake spent the spring 2025 semester studying at DIS Copenhagen. He took part in a core course titled "Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism from a European Perspective," where he immersed in the Danish culture and took a trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland. Jake's intention with studying abroad was to gain hands on experience with his Security and Risk Analysis studies and also be provided with an enhanced multi-cultural perspective. He learned so much from his journey and met so many great students and professors along the way. Jake's favorite memory from his studies was when he got to hear from members of the IRA and British military. His favorite trip was visiting Nice, France and Monaco with his friends that he met abroad. Jake chose to be a peer adviser because he would like to help others have a great experience just like he did - along with providing students with the best possible information prior to their experience.
Advice to Prospective Education Abroad Students: My advice to students considering studying abroad is to take the risk, say yes to everything, and go out of your comfort zone. It is very hard to leave your group of friends, travel across the world, and interact with different cultures. However, studying abroad is a life changing experience and certainly changed me for the better. There is a program for everybody in awesome places, so do what is best for you and I promise that memories will be made in whatever program fits best.
