Street art is a rising form of expression around the world. Artists have taken their canvases to the streets to express their messages and talents through street art. People walk by and pause to enjoy and analyze the works of mysterious artists that wish to send a message to the common public. Graffiti artists disguise themselves with aliases to remain anonymous and create something in public spaces for an interaction with the people. This exhibition highlights the street art and artists of four different places in Asia.
Street Art and Social Justice is an exhibition focusing around street art and how it went from a 1970s trend in New York City to a mode of expression and a call for change in Asia. Focused on four different countries, the pieces both show off the culture and the history of the surroundings. However, these selections also highlight the fleeting nature of human development, culturally and economically.
