Sandro A. Silverio is an educator and communicator, celebrated for his excellence in both teaching and public speaking. Born in Brgy. Buaya, Sicogon, Carles, Iloilo, he excelled academically from an early age, graduating as the class valedictorian at Buaya Elementary School in 2011 and later at Ramon Avanceña National High School in 2015.
Sandro graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) degree from West Visayas State University (WVSU), where he was recognized as the Most Outstanding Graduate and Best Student-Teacher in Mathematics. He became a licensed professional teacher after passing the Board of Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT) in December 2019.
Driven by a passion for education and a commitment to nurturing future leaders and scientists, Sandro joined the Philippine Science High School - Western Visayas Campus, where he has been teaching Mathematics to grade 7 and grade 11 students for almost six years. His dedication and exceptional teaching skills earned him the Sinagtala Teaching Excellence Award/Outstanding Teacher in 2021and 2023 from the Philippine Science High School System.
Sandro's contributions extend beyond the classroom. He has played a significant role in mentoring students for national and international competitions and has been actively involved in impactful outreach programs. His achievements in education and leadership have been recognized nationally; he was a National Finalist for Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP), an Ayala Young Leader of the Philippines in 2017, and a recipient of The Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awards (TOSIA) in 2019.
In addition to his educational accolades, Sandro has earned national and international acclaim in public speaking. Notably, he was named the 2021 Asia-Pacific Public Speaking Champion at the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Asia-Pacific Conference in Taichung, Taiwan, and represented the region at the JCI World Congress in Johannesburg, South Africa. During his college years, he also won gold and silver medals in National Dagliang Talumpati and National Extemporaneous Speaking, respectively.
Currently, he is pursuing his Master of Arts in Education majoring in Mathematics at West Visayas State University as a Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) Scholar
