Roy Canseco's career has given him a unique longitudinal view of computer science learning. After several years of teaching at the university level and advising research projects in UP Diliman, he transitioned to the DOST-Philippine Science High School System. There, he taught the full CS programming progression (CS 2, 3, & 4) and continued to mentor student researchers.

He is passionate about sharing how he and his colleague, Aline Mendoza, have enhanced student research capabilities by integrating project-based lessons on backend technologies—like persistent data storage and server-side rendering—into the core web development curriculum.
