John Vincent K. Forteza is a dedicated educator with 15 years of teaching experience, a licensed professional teacher specializing in English and campus journalism, and an award-winning mentor, writer, and speaker. He holds a Master of Arts in English as a Second Language (With High Distinction) from De La Salle University–Dasmariñas and a Graduate Diploma in Language and Literacy Education from the University of the Philippines Open University.
Recognized nationally for his excellence as a school paper adviser, Mr. Forteza was named the Most Outstanding School Paper Adviser of the Philippines in 2016 by the Department of Education. He has led multiple student publications to regional and national acclaim, including champions and top-ranking school papers at the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC). Currently, he serves as a Special Science Teacher V and school paper adviser at Philippine Science High School – CALABARZON Region Campus, where he continues to shape the next generation of communicators and storytellers.
As a regional journalism trainer, research contributor, and co-author of CALABARZON’s first official campus journalism stylebook, his work has made a lasting impact across schools and press conferences nationwide. He is a resource speaker and judge for journalism events, and a creative writer, with works recognized by the Philippine Normal University (Short Story for Children) and the Iligan National Writers’ Workshop (Filipino Poetry).
Passionate about empowering young voices through media, literacy, and advocacy, Mr. Forteza continues to champion meaningful education, critical thinking, and creative expression in every classroom and newsroom he touches.
