John Ridan D. Dechusa
John Ridan D. Dechusa is a dedicated Filipino subject teacher at the Philippine Science High School – Caraga Region Campus in Ampayon, Butuan City. He earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Language Teaching (Filipino) from the University of Southern Mindanao in Kabacan. Currently, he is pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Linguistics, major in Filipino, at the University of Mindanao in Davao City, where he is completing his dissertation.
Mr. Dechusa teaches subjects including Research in Filipino and Filipino 4, and he presently serves as the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Chairperson for Calendar Year 2024–2025. He has authored several research publications in the field of Filipino language and education. Notably, he presented his master’s thesis, “Students’ Opportunity in Classroom Discussions: Its Relation on Their Speaking Ability,” at the 2019 International Conference on Creative Teaching Assessment and Research (ICCTAR) held at the University of Putra Malaysia.
