Letter from the Coach

Bromfield has three levels of baseball: Middle School, JV, and Varsity. 2017 was the first year where we were able to field a full team at all three levels. We compete in Central Massachusetts, division 4, in Mid-Wach-D. We won a share of the Mid-Wach-D title last year for the first time ever, and made it to the playoffs in the first time in 30 years in 2017.  In addition, we won our first-round playoff game against AMSA, which is the first post-season win in program history. Our team practices on our field, which can present a challenge with three teams sharing one field.

Middle school will typically practice right after school for 90 minutes and then JV and varsity will combine for a 2 hour practice once Middle School has finished up. Practices usually include individual defensive work, team defensive instruction, batting practice, pitcher's side work, and baserunning and conditioning.  For our team goals, our first goal is to make the playoffs. Once we qualify for playoffs, our next goal is win our league, and if we win our league and are in the playoffs, our goal is to compete for a district title.

The baseball team values commitment to the team, selflessness, and hard work.  If our players all embrace these values, our team goals pretty much will take care of themselves.
