7th grade is one of the most important years in learning math. We will build on the strong foundation the students developed in elementary school and 6th grade while learning many new topics that will get them ready for 8th grade. The main strands we will be focused on are Ratios and Proportional Relationships, The Number System, Expressions and Equations, Geometry, and Probability and Statistics.
Last year we adopted a new curriculum, HMH Into Math, for the Middle School Math Classes (Grades 6-8). In 7th grade, we will focus on covering the 7th-grade Massachusetts Framework Standards, and also cover some 8th-grade topics in preparation for Algebra I. I will be adding helpful links and information when we are working on units so check back regularly.
The 7th-Grade modules are (order subject to change):
Ratios and Proportional Reasoning
Proportional Relationships (constant of proportionality in equations, graphs, tables)
Scale
Linear Relationships / Constant Rate of Change
