I.  Opening and Greetings

ALL: Welcome back to Beshi English Podcast. We are the best.

ALL: Greetings, everyone.

A: Hello, I’m Cathy.

B: Hi, I’m Eason.

II. New Year

A: What did you do on New Year’s Eve?

B: Oh, I watched the fireworks in Taipei 101 and in Eda World.

A: At the same time? In Taipei and 

Kaohsiung? 

(同時間,在台北和高雄?)

B: Of course, through watching TV. 

(當然是…看電視)

A: Did you enjoy the concerts? 

(你喜歡跨年演唱會嗎?)

B: Kind of. I don’t know most of the artists. 

(還好,大多歌手我都不認識)

III. Lunar New Year

A: As kids, we are lucky to have two New Years.

(身為小孩,我們很幸運有兩個新年)

B: Oh yes, I agree. And we have Lunar New Year.

(對呀,我同意,我們還有農曆新年)

A: What do you usually do in Lunar New Year?

(農曆年你都在幹嘛?)

B: I play fireworks, wear new clothes and eat dinner with my family.

(我會放鞭炮,穿新衣服,還有和家人吃晚餐)

A: You mean New Year’s Eve dinner? With so many people from family?

(你是說年夜飯?會跟好多家人一起吃的?)

B: Yes. We would eat fish.

(對呀,我們會吃魚)

A: 吃魚?嗯,年年有餘?

B: Yes. And we would eat tangerines.

(對,我們還會吃橘子)

A: 吃橘子?喔,大吉大利

B: And rice cake, too.

(還有年糕)

A: 年糕?步步高升

B: And don’t forget the best thing we all like?

(而且不要忘記我們最喜歡的…)

A: You mean… The thing we all want, too?

(你是說,我們也最想要的?)

B: Yeah, lucky money.

(對,就是壓歲錢.)

ALL: We wish you all well, happy, and get rich in Lunar New Year. Bye. See you.
