2022-2023 Tavelli Wellness

Sept-Oct Tavelli Running Club for all K-5th graders that want to run/walk and enjoy time with their teachers and friends.

November-Sports to Career Day assembly with former college and professional athletes. At this assembly we focused on the link between things kids are currently doing and how they can lead to different career paths.

5th Grade Healthy Hearts presentation on the importance of taking care of our bodies and making healthy choices.

February- Schools on the Move Month. Sponsored by Healthy Kids Club, students will track their activity minutes for the month of February for a chance to earn a free t shirt. Our goal is for student to be aware of the 5210 + model and make healthy choices throughout their lives. More info as we get closer to February

March- we will start running club up again. This is for any K-5th grade student that wants to come out and run/walk with us around the Tavelli playground to promote healthy living. More info after spring break

April/May-Tavelli Family run to promote wellness and community at our school. Tavelli walk a thon fundraiser to help support our classrooms at Tavelli.


1/19-1/25 What's going on in PE class this week?

3rd-5th grade will be playing hockey. Our students will be working on modified hockey rules and safety/sportsmanship/teamwork/kindness/following game rules/hockey skills/offense & Defense as well as learning to play games and keep score just for the fun of competing.

Kinder-2nd Grade will be working on using a hockey stick safely/controlling the puck (ball), passing and playing lead up hockey games that allow the kids to have fun and learn to play games vs other students using teamwork, sportsmanship and kindness.


The last of day running club for the fall session will be held Tuesday (Nov 9) at 8:00am.

Remote Learning PE Class

Activity #1

Warm ups: Everyday in PE class we start off with a warm up to get our body read for exercise. I would like to keep your warm up as close to the same warm up we do in class. Only do these exercises if you have room to move around safely. You chose the distance for each footwork exercise

Footwork-1.Jog down and back 2.Skip down and back 3.Gallop down and back 4.Slide down and back 5.Grapevine down and back

Strength exercise- 1. 30 seconds as many pushups as you can do

2. 30 second plank

3. 30 seconds as many squats as you can do

OK Tigers, now that you heart rate is up and you have good blood and oxygen pumping to the muscles, I want you to choose one of the exercise videos listed below. You get to choose click on the video you want to do.

Week 2 back from break

3rd-5th-1.Cardio Warmup 2.Clean Your Room-worked on using the hockey stick safely and passing 3.Split floor hockey game. Kids were socially distanced in areas of the gym playing a hockey game. This allowed them to work on better spacing and passing skills

K-2nd-1.Cardio Warmup 2.Musical Hula Hoops-students worked on moving using different locomotor movements, Hoops allowed for good spacing 3.Soccer dribble and partner pass

Hello Tavelli Students and Parents. This is my new home page, and it's under construction until school starts this fall. Once school starts, check here for weekly messages from me. Here's what I know so far...Activities will be delivered via SeeSaw for grades K-5. We will be using Google Meet for online meetings from home.
