Students learn best when they have an interest in the subject and can see connections across disciplines. When a student enters PHS as a 9th grader, we as them to choose a pathway of interest to guide their learning. This enables us to provide direction to their four year journey based on interest. Choosing a pathway is not the same as choosing a career path. Rather, each pathway adopts an industry theme or "program of study" to give students a read world connection for better understanding of the academic and technical foundation they will need in order to succeed in whatever post-secondary option they choose. Within this pathway are students with similar interests that can share in their learning as a member of a pathway cohort. The pathway model transforms a student's high school experience by bringing together strong academics, demanding technical education, and real-world experience, culminating in dual-credit and/or industry certifications.
