Recap of Previous Programs
Here's a little of what we did last quarter!
Students can choose to do one or more programs offered through Talent Pool (you don't have to do everything offered!).
Enrichment Clusters:
Talent Pool creators worked on projects like: creating musicals, crafting stories, composing symphonies through genre mixing, creating paintings, discussing heroes & villains, examining narratives in video games, and grant writing & video creation to help PGA win 3D printers via a grant application.
Book Club:
By popular vote, we read "Smart Teens' Guide to Intensity" to learn more about emotional intelligence, how our brains work, and how to understand our sensitivities & intensities better.
Executive Functioning Workshop:
About 3-5 students met weekly to learn about how the brain grows & develops habits, learned new strategies, chose goals to focus on, and most importantly learned about neuroplasticity & the brain.
Independent Study:
Students with strong self-starting & self-management skills met with Stevens for support, but worked on their own goals and areas of passion or curiosity. Ideas were shared in enrichment clusters and we focused on progress more than anything else.
Passion Project
One Talent Pool student worked to connect his passion around biking & the community, and successfully had a bike repair station donated to PGA! It will be installed later this spring and a group ride is being organized.
