Please take the time to look over this page in it's entirety! It covers a wide range of things from birthday celebrations to our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) we have at Laurel.
Class Pet:
Every student will get to take home our class pet Baxter for a weekend.
He is a stuffed animal bunny and is cleaned after each weekend away.
There is a journal in his bag that your child can use to write about their weekend. They will share this with the class that next Monday.
Desk Fairy:
Miss Barker has enlisted the help of our Desk Fairy to help make sure our room (and desks) stay clean.
We never know when she will come, but if their desk is clean when she does, she will leave a treat!
Birthdays:
We have a birthday elf that spends the day with them at their desk, we sing them happy birthday and more!
You can bring in treats, but please no peanut products! We have 18 students.
Mystery Readers:
Approved volunteers can come in and read our class a book!
We have a mystery reader every Friday at 12:45. Time and day can be flexible.
You can bring your own book or read one of mine.
Shhh, it’s a secret!
Book Orders:
All K-2 students at Laurel are automatically enrolled in an awesome program called Book Trust.
This program allows students to get up to $8 of FREE scholastic books EVERY month.
We will do this with them at school!
You can always order more books online using our class code:
WMW7J

Students are given a reading log every month.
It is totally optional, but if they turn it in (with the majority of it colored) they will get a personal pizza from Pizza Hut for free! Yum!
