All About 5th Grade

Welcome to, in our opinion, the BEST year of all of elementary school! Get ready for a year of lots of learning, tons of fun, and a whole lot of laughter. This is your final year of elementary school before you make the big leap to middle school! This means we have high expectations of you as we prepare you for this journey. This year, you will:

• Gain a deeper sense of responsibility and independence.

• Solidify your foundation of subject learning to prepare for more difficult classes in future years.

• Learn how to think critically.

• Collaborate with each other in meaningful and respectful ways.

• Read LOTS of great books.

• Respect ALL people and diverse ways of thinking.

• Adapt to new situations that can sometimes test your patience but will make you a more resilient individual.

• Advocate for yourself and what you need to be a successful learner.

• Reflect on your years of learning so far and decide who you want to be as a learner moving forward.

• Laugh with your crazy fifth-grade teachers who enjoy being super goofy and fun!
