Team Placement Release
**PLEASE READ**
Team placement is finalized Friday, November 21st, HOWEVER event placement is still subject to change! Placement for events is being determined from a variety of sources, including:
Coach input
Experience in event
Grade level
Practice attendance & engagement
Quizzes or tests administered by coaches
Schedule availability
Student interest ranking
Even if you do not make an event, you are still welcome to attend practices. You may be able to serve as an alternate/back up at the competition, and it could help you place in the event next year.
SOME STUDENTS DO NOT YET HAVE THREE EVENTS. As a reminder every student has to participate in at least three events. Once event placement is released, please look over the events that have openings and let me know an event you would be interested in picking up. This is a great opportunity to try something new and learn about a branch of science you may not have previous experience in!
Solar System Update
For any students interested in SOLAR SYSTEM the practice time has changed from Tuesday morning to Thursday morning 7:15-8:00 in room 526.

Event Interest!
I need all students to take a moment to fill out this updated survey on events you are planning to attend in the coming weeks. This has been posted to the SciO Google classroom, so please only fill it out once. I need this completed AS SOON AS POSSBILE so I can let your coaches know who they should be expecting at practices next week! Thank you!
***Metric Mastery***
If you are interested in Metric Mastery, practices will begin Wednesday, October 29th from 3:15-4:00pm. There will NOT be a practice for Metric Mastery this week (Oct 22nd).
Practices start this week!!
Thank you so much to everyone who came to our first Science Night last week! We will be starting our usual event practices this week, beginning on Tuesday, October 21st. Please make sure you are regularly checking the calendar, as dates and times of practices are subject to change as we continue to fill out our coaching roster. On the calendar there is also the room number for where your event will be meeting. Most of them will be in the 7th or 8th grade science rooms upstairs, but please double check so you know where you're going. As always, please let me know if you have any questions!
Our first Science Night will be held on OCTOBER 16TH!!
We encourage all students to attend this first night (even if you aren’t doing a build event) so everyone has a chance to meet coaches and learn more about the events this year. Please enter in the southwest doors, SciNight will be held in room 510.
Registration forms DUE no later than OCTOBER 10TH!! The sooner you complete and return your registration the better!
