Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs) at Kinard Align
with Colorado Academic Standards and Colorado Essential Skills Standards
According to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), a student in gifted and talented education needs to choose an Achievement (cognitive) ALP goal and an Affective (Essential Skills) ALP goal each year. Kinard aligns these goals to either or both of the Colorado Academic Standards and the Essential Skills Standards as well as to the PSD Student District Ends that are listed below. These goals are the synthesis of the essential abilities students must apply in our rapidly changing world. Today’s students need a repertoire of knowledge and skills that are more diverse, complex, and integrated than any previous generation.
