COVID-19

Remote Learning

The following projects are art projects to do during the period of time that school is cancelled due to COVID-19. They should be emailed to Mrs. Mohar or turned in on Google Classroom.

Choose one project from the options each week. For each project completed, you will receive full class credit. If possible, they should be turned in by Sunday evening, but I will accept late work for full credit.

Weeks 7 & 8 (5/4 - 15): Choose one of the following projects:

  • LAST PROJECT - 2 week project

1. Realistic Portrait - Choose a photo from the doc below; follow along with Mrs. Mohar's demo video while you draw it in pencil; look at it from far away and add any final details; take a photo and turn in

2. The Getty Challenge - read through the powerpoint and view the links, follow the directions on the last page - submit your final picture and a pic of the original (don't forget artist/title)

Week 6 (4/27- 5/1): Choose one of the following projects:

1. Land Art Installation: Read the document below to learn more about Andy Goldsworthy. Create your own land art installation, take a picture and turn in.

2. Artwork about COVID-19 experience: Answer the questions in the document that will guide you to create a piece of artwork about your own experience of the COVID-19 quarantine. Take a photo and turn in.

Week 5 (4/20-24): Choose one of the following projects:

1. ComboPhoto - Digital photo editing fun! Read through the directions in the word document and email to Mrs. Mohar

2. Logo Design - Create a logo either digitally or by hand - Read directions and plan your idea in the word document and email to Mrs. Mohar

Week 4 (4/13-17): Mix & Match Project

Mix & Match: Download the doc and choose one option from each: Media, Project, Style - answer the brainstorming questions (this will give you ideas for extra details to add to your artwork)

Take a picture of your final image and send to Mrs. Mohar or upload in google classroom

Week 3 (4/6-10) Choose one of the following projects:

1. Found Object Sculpture - use objects that you can find in your house or yard, read through the powerpoint below, create your sculpture, then upload a picture to google classroom or email a picture to Mrs. Mohar

2. Optical Illusion Drawing - create an optical illusion! read through the powerpoint and view the videos, then create the optical illusion of your choice using pencil and markers, then upload a picture to google classroom or email a picture to Mrs. Mohar

Week 2 (3/30-4/3) Choose one of the following projects:

1. Digital Photography: Composition - download the word document, read through the powerpoint about taking photos with good composition, email Mrs. Mohar the completed document (YOU must take the photos, but they can be of anything you want)

2. Still life drawing - draw something from life, this could be a pile of your fav things, a corner of your room, your backyard, food, etc. It can be zoomed in on one object or show a whole room. Use your fav media (pencil, colors, paint, etc)

Week 1 (3/23-3/27) Choose one of the following projects:

1. Digital Photography - Hidden Letters - download the document below, view the powerpoint, add all your pictures into the document and email the word document back to Mrs. Mohar

2. Recycle Colorado - Poster Contest - Click the link to read more about participating in the contest with the theme "What can I recycle?" You may use any media and the poster can be any size. Email Mrs. Mohar a clear picture of your completed poster.
