Apprenticeship - an arrangement in which someone learns an art, trade, or job under another.

PSD has agreements with local organizations for apprenticeships registered through the Colorado Department of Labor and unregistered apprenticeships through a 3rd party - CareerWise.  Apprenticeships are 2 - 3 years in length and result in an industry recognized certification.  Depending on the apprenticeship, students may earn college credit.  Students earn up to 5 high school credits per quarter in the Apprenticeship program.

Current Apprenticeship partners include:

Bank of Colorado, Columbine Health Systems, Neuworks Mechanical, Tolmar, Woodward

Internship - the position of a student or trainee who works in an organization, sometimes without pay, in order to gain work experience or satisfy requirements for a qualification.

PSD also offers partners with local organizations for internship opportunities.  Current internships include UC Health Radiology & CSU.  Internship students spend up to 120 hours in a particular field.  Students have interned in a variety of areas including medical fields, veterinary, law, engineering, business, and research to name just a few.
