Yes, I'm a Doctor (Ed.D).
No, I can't stitch you up if you fall down and hurt yourself. Well, I can but I wouldn't advise it.
As you will read below I grew up in Boulder, Colorado where I graduated from Niwot High School in 1996. I was always one that enjoyed the small classroom sizes as well as swimming and music, so I decided to head to a small town in Minnesota for college. Loved it. Probably the best decision I ever made. While at St. Olaf I traveled a lot. To places like Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Israel, Egypt, India, Nepal, China, and South Korea. Traveling made me love my area of study even more, and I think helped me land my jobs in Lakeville, and then Northfield Minnesota teaching Middle/High school History and Geography. During my time teaching I got my Masters and Doctorate in Educational Leadership at St. Thomas University. I also got married and had 3 babies, 2 of which are adopted from the United States. My oldest kiddo was born in 2007 (a 4th of July baby- fireworks for sure!), my middle child was born in 2011 in Utah and the baby of the family was born in 2014 in Texas. In the summer of 2015 I got the opportunity to move back to my favorite state in the nation while on vacation visiting family. We left Minnesota for a short visit and never came back to live. (Yes, that was crazy!) But now I am here and loving my job at Fossil!
I love to travel. To anywhere, but I really love...
Hawaii, Adirondacks, India, Minnesota, Disney World/Land/cruise, Thailand, and pretty much everywhere else, but I love checking out places I've never been.
I miss Minnesota (but not the cold winters).
My brother is a pro Ironman triathlete.
I was an assistant girls swim coach at FRHS from 2015-2017.
I was the Student Council Adviser at FRHS from 2017-2020. I love being a part of Fossil activities!
I have been the Key club sponsor since 2020.
I have been the Black Student Union sponsor since 2022.
I have been the Link Crew (Freshman Orientation) advisor since 2020
My parents are super fun and got me into seeing the world. (Thanks, mom and dad:)
My husband is an amazing person and father as well as an IT guru for the city of FoCo.
My oldest kiddo is here at Fossil with me, my middle is at Preston, and my youngest goes to Traut elementary.
I LOVE teaching- especially social studies!
Reading is a thing of mine.
But if I have any desire in the world, it's to keep showing my students and family all the beauty the world has to offer. Which is a lot.
In our lovely home of Colorado.

Trip to Greece in Summer 2022!
In the Sahara Desert in summer 2023 on our trip to Morocco!
My oldest and I at our Maui home.
I grew up in the foothills of Boulder, Colorado. The mountains were always my "true north" as one person called it, so leaving Colorado was never going to be something I could do for very long. After going to college in Northfield, Minnesota and living in the Minnesota tundra for 20 years, it was time to come back home, or at least pretty close. Fort Collins is where my husband grew up, as well as a place I loved to swim, so we are happy to be back home. Lucky us we also have family places to spend time in, so not only is Colorado home, but so is New York (on a lake near Inlet, NY) and Kaplua, Maui.
We know how lucky we are.
