About Your Teacher

Raisa Slutsky-Moore

Hometown:

I grew up living outside of Wellington and attending school in Fort Collins.

Professional Background/Education/Experience:

I have a BA in Critical Social Thought and Spanish from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA and an MA in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado.  I have been teaching preschool in a variety of settings since moving back to Colorado from Philadelphia in 2015. I believe that early childhood is an incredibly special time, and that children deserve the best experience we can give them at this age not only because it will lead to later school success but because they deserve it now.  I aim to create a safe, loving environment where students can discover the joys of being part of a loving, diverse, inclusive community of learning.

What I love about working at Beattie:

I appreciate the genuine respect and love for students and their families that I felt when I first walked in the building.

Personal Interests/Hobbies:

I love gardening, dancing, jigsaw puzzles, and indoor bouldering.  Outside of work, I can usually be found working with community organizations to build a better world for all of us (especially our children) and being a total goofball with parents or my partner and our ridiculous zoo.
