Multicultural Night
By: Carter & Malakai
Multicultural night is a night that you can go and check out all of the cultures in the school. There were some games outside of the PE room. In every classroom there is a culture in them. You could see somebody that could put ink on you and let it sit there for 30 minutes, it is called henna. After the multicultural night there was a concert at the school. The concert was about culture. 3rd graders performed at the concert.

House competitions are something you get to do in 5th grade. You get put in a “house”, the names are Wajibu, Pantera, Allievo and Vineet. Then you play games and if you get first you get the most points, all classes will all go to each class. The games are like guessing games, word games/spelling games.

4th Grade Strong Activities
By: Nori
Every month, fourth grade does a challenge to learn to work together. For the month of November, they got into teams to stack cups… Without their hands. This grade got into groups of four to five. Teachers gave them six cups, and a rubber band with five strings tied on.
The goal was to pull the string to pick a cup up, and put it back down. Sounds easy, right? Not at all. Maybe in the first round, but it gets harder each time you finish stacking the cups. First, everyone has their eyes open and can speak. Next, one person can't open their eyes. Third, someone cant speak and another person can not see.
Fourth, two people cannot see and one person still can't speak. Fifth, two for both. That's the farthest a team got. This challenge was tough!
Live Dairy Cow Visit
By: Dania
This fall a live cow came to visit parkwood! The cow's name was Louise. She is a dairy cow. We learned about how they have to clean the milk. We got to watch Louise get milked! My favorite part was that a real cow came to our school. It was amazing!!
Fall Sports: Cross Country & Volleyball
By: Mason & Jack
Lots of people in Parkwood this year signed up for cross country. The first race was at Remington/ Vago Park. The Parkwood boys raced first. Jack in 5th grade got 1st place in the boys with a time of 6:03/mile. The girls did very well too. With lots of girls competing for the top spot. The next races were at Tiemeyer park, BMAC, Are very own Parkwood, and last at Remington. Overall cross country was a hit this year.
We have a green team and a white team for Parkwood’s volleyball. The white has lost two and won one. On the other hand the green team has been undefeated, winning three games in a row. Parkwood's wonderful coaches are Mr. Harrison and Mrs.Worsham. We practice and play at our beloved Parkwood gym.
