What is an ELO?
Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs) are a unique learning initiative in the Pattonville School District that is designed to allow students to pursue their interests and career aspirations in a variety of non-traditional ways. The goal is for the student to be exposed to real-world applications in their area of interest. ELOs are driven by a student’s authentic interest, can be credit-bearing, and can take place during the school day, after school, or even during the summer.
Highly flexible and individualized to the learner’s needs and goals
Developed in partnership with school and community members to meet specific competencies
Agreed-upon goals and competencies are rigorous and frame the ELO experience with
A minimum of 60 hours of engagement
A project and presentation will be the culmination of the ELO experience
Credit can be awarded if the learner has fulfilled all requirements of the ELO

How does my student become enrolled?
First, complete the ELO Request Form below. You will receive an email copy of this form. Completing this form begins the ELO process. Once received a PHS counselor or administrator will contact the student to discuss the request.
Will my student need permission to leave campus?
In short, yes. Download the form below, read, and sign it preferably before your student's meeting regarding the ELO experience.
