INTRODUCTION
General Mathematics is a core subject being offered to all SHS strands. It aims to equip students of the necessary mathematical knowledge and skills focusing on the different learning areas in Mathematics. Specifically, it covers lessons involving Advanced Algebra, Business Math and Logic. This course allows the students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers needed in the 21st century, to be more appreciative of the beauty and use of mathematics in the real world and to enable them to become successful engineers, architects and other math related professions in the future.

Functions can be used and seen in our everyday lives. The study of this is vital in many lessons in Mathematics and even in solving problems in real-life situations. It is also the building block of every invention. We have probably seen this in basic economics, business, and money math. Indeed, functions can often be used to model several real-life situations like converting the money from one currency to another, computing the mortgage payment on a loan, or integrating the speed to capture the distance covered.
