Conservatory

In Band, students who played flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone or percussion in 4th Grade Conservatory (or play outside of school) have the opportunity to work together in a large ensemble setting with multiple parts.

Students engage in a higher and more engaging level of music ranging from standard Concert Band repertoire to Rock, Pop, Jazz and more.

We strongly encourage all students who played flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone or percussion in 4 Conservatory to choose Band for 5 Conservatory, as we see significant progress and greater enjoyment in the second year learning an instrument.

Students who have outside experience on other wind and brass instruments, such as saxophone, oboe, bassoon, French horn, etc. are welcome to join 5 Band.

In Orchestra, students who played violin, viola, cello or upright bass in 4th grade Conservatory (or play outside of school) have the opportunity to work in a large ensemble setting with multiple instruments and multiple parts.

Students engage in a higher and more engaging level of music ranging from classical to contemporary.

We strongly encourage all students who played violin, viola, cello or upright bass in 4 Conservatory to choose Orchestra for 5 Conservatory, as we see significant progress and greater enjoyment in the second year learning an instrument.

In Chorus, students have the opportunity to sing in multiple part harmony with a wide array of repertoire from around the globe. Students develop their vocal technique and sight singing.

We encourage students who prefer to pursue vocal music or do not wish to continue on the instrument they studied in 4th Grade Conservatory to sign up for Chorus.
