End of Year Tech Tips
Seesaw
Teacher Seesaw accounts will remain active. All teacher created lessons and activities remain with the teacher account. Teachers will continue to have access to all their activities. No action is needed at this time.
Some additional notes:
Brookline will continue to support Seesaw in preschool through Grade 2. The Learning Journals of students in Pre-K, Kindergarten and Grade 1 will move with students and will be accessible to their parents and teachers.
For families of students that will not have access to Seesaw for Schools next year (ex. a 2nd grader moving up to 3rd grade or a student leaving the district), teachers should send out instructions on how to download their journal. Parents will lose access 60 days after the class is archived in late August.
If a student leaves the district, admin will still have access to the historical journal unless the account is somehow deleted (e.g. parent/admin support request).

Google Classroom
Your Google Classroom will remain active through the summer and beyond. It's strongly advised that teachers complete the simple End of Year tasks outlined in the presentation below.
Please contact sandra_sicard@psbma.org or Jenny_murphy@psbma.org if you have any questions about Google Classroom End of Year Tasks
Canvas
Your Canvas courses will remain intact and you will retain access to all the assignments and resources in your current courses.
Some Key Points:
Be aware of the term end dates listed below and Communicate the dates with students.
Record Keeping: Export your grades from the grade book. Best practice export each Q for your records.
Your Courses will end automatically. You don’t need to do anything. Don’t use “Conclude” course link!
You’ll have access to your previous courses and you’ll be able to import everything into your new SY24-25courses. However, you won’t be able to add content or change grades in your SY23-24 courses after July 30.
You most likely have a “Sandbox” course (MyFirstCourse or Master course in the Default Term). Use that course to build content over the summer. You can easily import any modules into your SY24-25 course when it’s created in late August. If you need a Sandbox course contact bob_thomas@psbma.org.
PSB Canvas 23-24 Term Dates
Q4 ends June 17
Grades are due June 17 (6-8) and June 17 (BHS)
Students lose access on June 30
Teachers lose edit access on July 30 (teachers can always export content to new courses)
Please contact bob_thomas@psbma.org or lisa_francescon@psbma.org if you have any questions about Canvas End of Year Tasks
If you are leaving Brookline...
Return your Town issued Macbook and any other peripherals.
School-based items like keys and swipe cards, should be returned to the main office
Teacher issued devices (laptops, ipads, chromebooks) should be returned to the IT Service Desk located in the Health Building on School Street (Town Hall parking Lot). Please email the Service Desk to schedule a drop off time.
Before returning, prepare your Macbook. The Tech staff will erase all the data to prepare for another user.
Preserve your important Google Documents. Carefully choose the files you need to take with you. Be selective when saving Google Documents. Be careful not to take any documents with student data. Learn more here.
