Options for Phone Calls
Provide a Phone Contact for Parents Without Sharing Your Phone Number
Using Meet to Make a Phone Call
Dial out from Hangouts Meet to any US number.
Set up an advance time with the person, as the number that shows on caller ID is generic.
Use Google Voice
Google Voice is a free service with Gmail.com accounts. Our psbma.org G Suite for Education does not include Google Voice. However, for many teachers, setting up a Google Voice number with their non-school Gmail is a great way to provide a contact number for parents and protect privacy.
Google Voice:
Protects privacy
Has voicemail that you can check from a browser
Transcribes voicemail
Can be set to ring phones of your choice
Can send text messages
