It's easy to create an audio based discussion where students can record the correct pronunciation of their name. It's a great beginning of the year of activity. Teachers can create the discussion and "Pin" it for easy reference.

Consider making the Discussion "Graded" to get the greatest responses
Make sure that the course setting "Let students attach files to discussions" is checked in Settings/More Options. The setting is the defualt in new course shells.
"Pin" the Discussion so that it will be easy to find.
Students can record audio from the Media icon in the Discussion response box.
