Newsela provides access to thousands of compelling, leveled reading materials that support instruction and the development of literacy skills,

Newsela's flexible instructional content complements our ELA, social studies and science curriculum. Newsela articles feature adjustable reading levels to ensure that all students have access to engaging, relevant content.

Brookline has licensed Newsela for grades 2 through 8. Student access to full Newsela features is based on grade level.

Grade 2 can access Newsela through Clever. - COMING SOON

Grades 3-5 can access Newsela through Google Classroom.

Grades 6-8 can access Newsela through Canvas.

1. Sign in to Newsela with your @psbma.org Google account

2. Sync your Class.

3. Share Newsela Content

Getting Started Grades 6-8

1. Launch Newsela from your Canvas Course Navigation sidebar.

2. Sync your Canvas Courses.

3. Create an Assignment and Choose "External Tool"

4. Select Newsela from the External tools options and create an assignment in Newsela.

5. Click Embed Assignment.

6. Save and publish the Assignment.
