Intermediate dance
This course is a continuation and refinement of the basic skills and the variety of dance styles learned in the Beginning Dance class, such as Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Tap, African and Latin. This class focuses on learning choreography, developing a sense of artistry, while emphasizing performance techniques and a further exploration of diverse dance vocabulary to prepare students for the spring dance concert, Progressions.
We also offer Intermediate Dance I-A for students who want to do a condensed half year version of the Intermediate Dance.
While many students move on from Intermediate Dance I and I-A to Advanced Dance, students may take this course more than one time.
Open to students in grades 9 through 12 with the prerequisite of Beginning Dance or by placement audition.
Both Intermediate Dance and Intermediate Dance I-A can also be taken for Wellness credit, except for in 9th grade.
