Dr. Danica Salazar graces the 3rd ELS Research Congress
The Department of English proudly announces that this year's plenary speaker for the ELS Research Congress is Dr. Danica Salazar - the Executive Editor for World Englishes of the Oxford English Dictionary. She will be presenting about the presence of Philippine English in the Oxford Dictionary, the work of a lexicographer, and the impact of the presence of our own variety in a renowned English Dictionary.
This year's activity will be held via Zoom to mitigate the risk caused by high heat index that the country is experiencing. There will be five student presenters and 10 posters that will be judged by esteemed evaluators. The paper presentations were evaluated by Ms. Chonnie Cholla R. David and Mr. Lance Joshua S. Castro. Meanwhile, the posters were evaluated earlier by Mr. Fernando Gascon, Mr. Jocell Calma, and Ms. Christine Padiernos.
The winners will receive a cash prize (courtesy of the administration), and tokens and certificates from the department.
