The Core Indicator System (CIS) was developed to provide an effective tool for monitoring, evaluation, and analysis of the performance of BIMP-EAGA and its cooperation sectors.
Its 82 indicators aim to assess the targets and priorities of the following BIMP-EAGA clusters:

- Trade and Investment Facilitation
- Information, Communication, and Technology
- Power and Energy Infrastructure
- Tourism
- Agribusiness
- Environment
