The theme for this month is “Where I live and where my family lives”. Talk to your child about the different kinds of homes around the neighborhood (buildings, houses, brown-stones, etc.) Talk to your child about the function of some buildings around the neighborhood, stores, restaurants, churches, etc. Tell your child the names of the different parts of their home such as living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, etc. Talk to your child about what they do in the different rooms in the house (Sleeping in the bedroom, cooking in the kitchen, etc.) Look in Google maps (internet) the different buildings and places in the neighborhood. Take pictures of where your child lives (send them with your child for our share and talk time). Take pictures of his/her favorite room at home. Write and learn the address of your home. Ask your child what kinds of buildings or houses they see in the community. Please take your Pre-k child to visit stores such as the supermarket, McDonalds, pharmacy, hardware, clothes stores, etc.
