Welcome Message from the Principal 2026-2027
Dear Families, Students, and Community Members,
Welcome to P.S. 195, a place where every child is valued, every voice matters, and every student is empowered to succeed.
At P.S. 195, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to thrive in school and beyond. We believe that all children can achieve at high levels when provided with rigorous instruction, meaningful support, and opportunities to explore their unique talents and interests.
Our vision is to cultivate lifelong learners who are curious, resilient, and prepared to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world. Through engaging, student-centered learning experiences, we strengthen literacy, mathematics, critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional development while celebrating the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of our school community.
Our mission is to build a community of excellence where high expectations, collaboration, and accountability drive continuous growth. By working together as educators, families, and community partners, we ensure that every child receives the support, encouragement, and opportunities needed to reach their fullest potential.
We know that education is most successful when schools and families work hand in hand. We deeply value the trust you place in us and welcome your partnership as we create a learning environment where students feel safe, respected, inspired, and empowered to achieve their dreams.
As Helen Keller wisely stated, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” This quote reflects the spirit of P.S. 195 and reminds us that our greatest successes are achieved through collaboration, partnership, and a shared commitment to our children.
Thank you for being part of the P.S. 195 family. We look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, discovery, and celebration.
Warm regards,
Ivan Rivera
