EOB-P1 - School Bus Loading and Unloading Zones

Students shall embark and disembark in a single file.

Students shall make use of the hand rail during embarking and disembarking.

Upon entering the bus, the student shall be seated immediately.

The Bus Driver shall be encouraged to provide an established seating plan, in conjunction with the School Principal.

As required by regulation, the Principal shall provide a loading and unloading plan to the Transportation Supervisor, for approval, prior to the second week of school.

Loading and unloading shall be done from the bus door closest to the school, where possible.

Under no circumstances will backing up of vehicles be allowed in loading and unloading zones.

Wherever possible, loading zones shall be provided in completely separate locations from other vehicle traffic.

Adequate and required signage shall be provided at strategic locations.

Buses shall have flashing lights operating while loading and unloading in all zones at all times.
