Irvine School Library

Learning and loving our shelves

Welcome  to the Information station for Irvine Students, Teachers, and Families

Our Students

Our library is a place where students can come to problem solve, think critically, cooperate and work with others. It is a relaxed, friendly, respectful space. At all times kindness is expected.

Students are encouraged to behave like a library TIGER! Showing TOLERANCE, acting with INTEGRITY working with GRIT, ENCOURAGING others, and showing RESPECT

Students are always welcome in the library to work, collaborate with peers, and borrow library resources. See Mrs. Hamill for your library needs.

Read n Quiz,  is a Lexile based reading program that motivates and measures students reading comprehension.  RQ features independent quizzes, reading for pleasure, and incentive awards. Students are motivated to read books that are matched to both their reading and interest levels.

Students are able to earn prizes, and their names are entered to win monthly and year-end draws as they accumulate points. Good Luck and happy reading.

Read n' Quiz has begun.

Good luck everyone!

Read n' Quiz has begun. All students grades 3-9 are expected to participate. Read n' Quiz is a part of student's LA course.

Chromebook Guidelines

Students (grades 4-9) have the opportunity to lease a Chromebook. Like a textbook, this device is a resource to support learning. Students will be required to pay a lease fee of $30.00 per year to cover general maintenance of the Chromebooks.

All classroom, school, and district policies are required to be followed at all times and in any location. Electronic checkout (using the library's database Insignia) is a borrowing agreement. Digitally signing out a device means the student agrees to return it upon request along with any accessories that were borrowed with it. (All Chromebooks are borrowed with a charge cord.) All borrowed items will be returned in good condition and working order. All library material will be returned to Irvine School Library unless otherwise noted.

All district-issued devices are the property of Prairie Rose School Division 8. If any fines, repair, or replacement fees have occurred, whether intentionally or due to negligence, the student and the student’s parent/guardian will be responsible for paying the fines. Please make payments directly to Irvine School using School Cash Online.
