Every child is different in their development. Typically children who are 3 and older are ready to participate in our program.
Yes. A caregiver must come with the student every time. The design of our program relies on the participation of a caregiver.
Parents, legal guardians, adult family members, or another adult with the responsibility of caring for the child such as a babysitter or nanny.
Classes are filled on a first come, first serve basis, with preference being given to students within Amelia Earhart Elementary's boundaries. There are no tests or requirements to meet in order to participate.

We've had some younger siblings attend successfully. Younger siblings may attend but they are the caregiver's full responsibility to ensure they're not disrupting the learning of our enrolled Flight School students.
No. This is one of the benefits of having caregivers attend with their child. When any child needs to go to the bathroom or a diaper needs to be changed, the caregiver will go with the child to the bathroom in the Nurse's office. This is a private bathroom where a diaper may be changed.
Classes start on either August 14th or 15th depending on whether you're signed up for Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday classes. Classes meet twice a week, you'll either be part of a Monday/Wednesday group or a Tuesday/Thursday group. We have morning and afternoon sessions.
Classes are 1.5 hours followed by a half hour of "Office Time" where you can meet with teachers to go over any questions, concerns, or request some extra tutoring.
Morning sessions run from 9:00-10:30 am
Afternoon sessions are 12:00-1:30 pm
Flight School is free to everyone. There are no fees or tuitions and we provide all supplies a student may use.
Another caregiver may bring your child but we appreciate advance notice. Please let any stand-in caregiver know they will be required to check-in with official ID (Drivers license or passport) when entering the school.

Yes! Each day we provide a snack for the students that follows Federal guidelines about providing wholesome food to students. Please notify us if you or your child have any allergies and intolerances we need to be aware of. We care about providing a safe and healthy environment for each of our participants.
In accordance with Utah state law, you will need to provide us with a completed immunization form or follow the steps for personal, medical, or religious exemptions prior to the first day your child attends class.
The Pre-K requirements are:
4 Dtap/DTP
3 Polio (IPV)
1 MMR* (measles, mumps rubella)
3 Hepatitis B (HBV)
2 Hepatitis A (HAV)*
1 Varicella** (chickenpox)
HIB -doses adequate for age
Pneumococcal -doses adequate for age, including one dose of Prevnar 13
*1st dose MMR, Varicella, and Hep A must be given AFTER 1st birthday to be valid dose
**Varicella. history of disease requires document signed by a healthcare provider of verification
A child may be allowed to attend school "conditionally" if at least one dose of each required immunization series has been completed and the child is currently on schedule to finish the rest. The remaining immunizations must be completed on schedule for the child to remain in attendance.
Exemptions: personal, religious, medical
The legal guardian of all new students must complete an online educational module (free of charge) and provide a copy of the completed form to the school official (in this case, Flight School teacher). The online course can be found at https://immunize.utah.gov/immunization-education-module/
Completion of the online educational module can be done at the Health Department if you do not have access to a computer.
For a medical exemption, a written note from a licensed health care provider must be provided along with a copy of hte completed online educational module. It should state the physical condition of the student, and why that vaccine would endage the student's life or health.
Foreign-born students or any student who has lived in a high-risk country for 6 months or more within the past 5 years:
Students born in countries considered high-risk for TB must provide results of a completed TB test (PPD) given in the U.S. within 90 days or the results of a chest x-ray taken within the last year. Students that have initiated a TB screening test but are waiting results may begin school if they have no signs or symptoms of tuberculosis.
