Journalism and Ready Writing

Writing Events on April 24, 2026 will be in person run by Mary Pulliam.
Competition Procedures:
- Prosper will provide computers and printers for competitors to use should they wish. All schools may choose to bring their own equipment if they would prefer to not use the district provided equipment.
- Students may, of course, choose to write their tasks and submit it to the Contest Manager.
Verification will take place as soon as possible once grading is completed.
- Results will be posted as soon as possible after verification. Headline writing and Editorial Writing will be verified on Saturday morning at 9am.
- Awards will be placed in school bags if not picked up.

The Regional Host WILL be providing laptops/computers for journalism events and ready writing.

While guest logins and facilities will be checked ahead of time with technology personnel on hand, the host school bears no responsibility in the case of issues arising from use of district technology during the contest.

Schools participating in Ready Writing or Journalism events should either be prepared to use the district devices provided (at their own risk), hand-write their entries, or bring their own computer (one for each competitor) and printer(s) with power cords and extension cords.

We will have separate judges for Ready Writing and for Journalism.

Both sets of judges are experienced at judging at all levels of competition within their respective events.
