EdTech Tools
Technology integration is the use of edtech tools and devices to enhance students learning experiences and deepen understanding. Technology empowers teachers to develop creative and interactive classrooms and gives them access to innovative resources.
Edtech tools used in isolation do not make as much of an impact on learning as when they are seamlessly integrated into the curriculum and/or lesson plans. It's beneficial for teachers to use a few edtech tools deeply and meaningfully than to constantly switch between different ones. Focusing on a few key edtech tools allows for deeper learning, more efficient workflows, and ultimately, a more enriching learning experience for students.
When teachers use tools consistently, students have time to master them and explore their full potential.
Deeper Learning: When teachers use tools consistently, students have time to master them and explore their full potential. This leads to a deeper understanding of the tool itself and how it can be applied to different learning situations, fostering higher-order thinking skills.
Efficient Workflow: Constantly switching tools disrupts the flow of learning. Students spend more time figuring out how to use a tool than actually using it to learn. Mastering a few tools streamlines the process and saves valuable class time.
Meaningful Integration: Technology should enhance learning, not be a distraction. Thoughtful integration of a few key tools allows teachers to weave them seamlessly into their curriculum, making them an integral part of the learning process rather than an afterthought.
Developing Digital Fluency: Deep use of a few tools encourages students to develop digital fluency and transferable skills. They learn to problem-solve, adapt, and apply their technological knowledge in different contexts.
Building Confidence: Mastery builds confidence. When students feel comfortable with a tool, they're more likely to take risks, experiment, and engage with the learning material in creative ways.
The tools below are approved for use in Prosper ISD and are provided by the district or free to use.
