Texas Bluebonnet Reading Challenge
3rd - 5th grade
This is a unique program that encourages reading for pleasure and is aimed at students in grades 3-6.
Each year, 20 books are chosen as the “Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List” by the TBA selection committee made up of librarians.
If students read a minimum of five books from the current master list (or have the books read aloud to them), they have the opportunity to vote for their favorite title during the month of January each year. The author of the book receiving the most votes statewide is declared the winner of the Texas Bluebonnet Award.

To be a part of the Light Farms Bluebonnet Club, students must submit a short online form.

Texas 2x2 Reading List
PK-2nd grade
The 2X2 Program is a program for our K - 2nd Grade Students. The 2X2 list consists of 20 recommended picture books selected by a committee of Texas Librarians from the Texas Library Association Committee.
Most of the 2x2 books will be shared in class but students can also read the books on their own.
When each class has completed the 2x2 challenge, their accomplishment will be celebrated by posting their picture on the 2x2 Wall of Fame that is proudly displayed in the library for all to see!
