In 6th grade ELAR, students have many opportunities to visit the school library and choose books they want to check out. We will also read two whole-class novels along with literature circle novels, where students can choose from a select few books. This year, we will start with a whole-class novel titled "Refugee" by Alan Gratz. Every student will need to purchase a physical copy of this novel to have in class. Please ensure that your child has this novel in their possession by Monday, September 8th, as we will begin reading it in class shortly after. Your child DOES NOT need to read this novel ahead of time since we will be reading it as a whole class. If your child has an older sibling who already has a copy of this book from when they were in 6th grade, they are welcome to use it!
