Social Studies Mission Statement:

To deeply investigate a past or present problem, articulate a position using relevant evidence, and determine an appropriate course of action.

Unit 5: Economics - March 14th April 5th 5 Weeks

Students will understand the choices people make with their money. They will identify ways people are producers and consumers and trace the development of a product from natural resource to finished product.

Students will be challenged to answer these questions in this unit: (Essential Questions)

• Why do people work?

• Why are producers and consumers important?

• What choices do we make with our money?

Week 1: Natural Resource to finished product

Week 2: People Make Choices about what they do, Intro Performance task

Week 3: Goods and Services, Money provides income for goods and services

Week 4: People Make decisions about Earning, Spending, Saving, producing consuming

Week 5: Performance Task
